The No on 8 site -- which is helping to defeat Proposition 8, which would deny equal rights to people based on who they screw -- came under attack yesterday. A DoS attack (i.e., denial-of-service attack) tried bringing the system down today. According to something called Equality California:
Today the NO on Prop 8 campaign’s Web site (http://www.noonprop8.com/) was the victim of what appears to be a coordinated attack designed to bring the system down. According to http://www.calitics.com/, the denial-of-service attack (DoS) on the NO on Prop 8 website occurred before 11:30pm, Wednesday, October 29th and coincides with a similar attack on Florida’s NO on 2 campaign, the Constitutional Amendment Against Marriage Equality.
This DoS attack is both "illegal and highly unethical." But since being illegal and highly unethical is all the Yes On 8 flock seem to understand, we can't say we're surprised. Vile.
Also, Proposition 8 stands a great chance of winning next week. Surprised? You shouldn't be. Get out there and votes, folks. Or better yet, you can donate here and here. (Seriously, these people are using children and terms like "indoctrinate" as an excuse to hate. Please, if you can, do something about it.)
