The debate over Proposition 8 heated up at the Gay Pride Parade in Palm Springs this weekend.
Prop 8 is one of the most talked about issues on this year's ballot. Supporters and critics are fighting hard to the last minute, trying to win over voters.
At the Gay Pride Parade in Palm Springs, all of the focus is on Prop 8, the definition of marriage.
"I think anyone should be able to get married wether they're religious or not," says Tyler Beltran, Prop 8 critic.
There is always two sides to every debate. Among the thousands against Prop 8, there are a few supporters fighting back with yes signs.
"They don't see the sanctity in male-on-male or female-on-female," says Phyllis Burgess, Prop 8 supporter.
Those against the ballot issue didn't take kindly to the protestors displays.
"I was amazed with the hatred," says Burgess.
Palm Springs Police expected heated disagreements at the parade this weekend, bringing along extra officers, but for the most part things stayed calm.
"There were some people with vote yes signs and they got some jeering from the crowd and yelling back and forth," says Mitch Spike with Palm Springs Police.
Despite fighting words and clashing opinions both sides continue standing strong eagerly waiting for Tuesday's results.
